The first game in a while that made me feel that way was Playerunknown's Battleground. When you get sniped from out of nowhere and you don't even have a remote idea from where the shot came 20 minutes into the game for the fifth game in a row...you can get pretty mad.
I payed 2$ for Pokémon Silver for Gameboy Color back in the day (from a friend). It might be my most played game to this day, so I'd say it was a really good deal.
I haven't bought a physical game in about 5 years and that was when I bought a used PS3 on Ebay and some games came along with it. The last time I bought a game in a store was even longer ago. I buy all my games online, mostly on steam, but on occasion from Origin (Battlefront most recently).
I have also had some problems with my girlfriend concerning video games. She is mostly okay with me playing and she likes to play some old PS2 games from time to time herself, but sometimes she thinks I just play too much. Nothing major, though.
I bought Playerunknown's Battlegrounds the other day. It has some minor problems at the moment, but there are monthly patches that fixes a lot and adds new fun stuff. I enjoy it a lot, especially when playing with friends.

I played Vi in the jungle. When you are in bronze like me, she is almost stupidly good. Think I went 15/1 or something in the last game I played with her.
Like all the other people said, you can do literally anything in Minecraft. If you get tired of the regular gameplay, there are hundreds if not thousands of mods to try out. There's even a full-fledged MMORPG server/mod called Wynncraft!
I actually just started playing Old School Runescape with some friends. I haven't played since 5th grade which was like 10 years ago. This is quite the nostalgia trip...
I usually switch it up a bit. I switch between maybe 2-3 games until I've completed them, then I move on to others. Of course there are some games I play with friends at all times, like LoL and CS.
