Sony Registers 'Console War' Domain Names

Sony Pictures registered a number of domain names for "Console War," suggesting we may see some type of bizarre video game movie in the future. As Fusible.com points out, this could also be marketing video for the still-unannounced PlayStation 4. The domains were not registered by Sony Computer Entertainment.

As with all trademark and domain registrations, this doesn't necessarily mean the information is confirmed. Companies like to future-proof possible ideas in the event they decide to use them.

I don't get how they need some many domain just for one movie, 2 or 3 would be enough.

they probably want to take every single one they can think of so no one can copy or deceive people when "Console Wars" is more out in the open

It's not like it's much of a cost to them, they should have bought all they can. Even .co is on the rise.
