144hz Monitor

I am thinking about buying a new monitor. A 144hz to be more precise.
If you have experience with gaming on 144hz have you noticed any benefits compared to 60hz?

There are a lot of benefits in gaming with a 144 Hz monitor, especially in FPS games like CS GO. A 144 Hz monitor will support a high framerate output by your GPU, for example, if your GPU produces 80+ fps, you will be able to see all of them on a 120 or 144 Hz monitor. If you have a 60 Hz monitor you would waste 20 or more frames, because refresh rate of the monitor is too slow to show them. You should only buy a 120/144 Hz monitor if you have powerful hardware, and I would suggest going for 120Hz, beacuse there isn't much difference between them, but thats just my opinion.

Ok I'm currently in the process of upgrading my computer, with the new hardware I'm going to be able to utilize that. 120hz you say huh, I guess I'll look in to the price difference between the two to get a better idea. Thank's man.

I mean, anything beyond 60 FPS isn't really seeked for graphics purposes, but rather to enhance the game's responsiveness to inputs (we're talking about very minor differences, though), and it's only useful to rule out any possible interference with the player's reactivity.
If budget isn't a problem, go with a 120 Hz to make the most out of your rig. However, if you feel like you don't need it, you can opt for a higher resolution screen with lower refresh rate, should it come to that.

Well, I only recommend my friends to get 144 Hz monitor if you have a strong GPU. Also, they have certain card-compatible features such as G-Sync and Freesync. Therefore, do check on your hardware and see if you need any upgrades before moving on to a new monitor.

There's that to consider, too. I'm personally having a hard time imaging games that might benefit from 144+ FPS, since people most likely get good GPUs to play hardware-demanding games, and there's no way they'll achieve that kind of performance there. Still, some people might need it, just... not that many.
And I agree on checking those features out first.
