Anyone know why this is happening

I haven't played xbox live in a while but I started playing it again and every time someone invites me to a party or game I get the message in my inbox but a notification doesn't pop up on my screen. Anyone know where in the settings you can fix this? I haven't been able to really look into it yet.

If this is on 360. You need to delete all your previous messages. It just means your inbox has filled up.

Steps:
1. Hit the home button
2. Go to settings > Preferences
3. Notifications
4. Check all that apply
5. Happy gaming

Didn't think he edited anything. When messages fill up your xbox the notification wont pop up anymore.
