Are you in a guild?

If so, how long have you been in your guild? Maybe you're in more than one on different toons. Tell us about your guild. Is it close knit, hardcore, casual, social, PvE or PvP or both? Do you and your guildies do lots of activities together or do you log on and no one talks?

My husband and I had a raiding guild for over 3 years, but it died when our server did. We transferred and I joined a PvP guild for something different. The people there are cool, but fairly competitive, even amongst guildies. It can be pretty intense at times, but mostly it's fun. Everyone talks, helps each other, etc.

I am in a social guild only, and that's as close I've ever gotten to a guild. I joined mid-Cata, and I didn't really get to experience hardcore raiding guilds. LFR destroyed me, made me lazy.

I am in a guild. Or, at least, I think I still am. I mean it's been quite some time since I logged in. This guild is made up of real-life friends. Well, to be exact, they are the friends of my son. All of them are working adults and this game is their hobby.

Long ago, I used to be a Guild Master, too, but that's in another universe. Not sure if I should be talking about it here.

Running a guild is harder than it looks! You play a lot less and manage a lot more.

Sure, you can talk about it here, if you like. I don't mind. It is related to the topic (I brought it up myself).

Finding a good guild can be tricky, but it's definitely worth it, if you ask me.

I've switched guilds a lot. Originally I was in Alliance, and it was awesome. Through a year or so, most of the guildies left the game, so I switched to Horde where it was more active. My guild now is very sporadic, and casual basically.

I have two! Jordan's guild will always be my home even though I'm not a member of it anymore since I quit and left but it was my first guild! The other which was technically also my first guild is Separation Anxiety and has had numerous guild owners, including myself it'll be missed but it finally died after everyone quit the game

I do believe after 3 months, someone in your guild can take GM away xD
I left my guild to a friend after I knew I would no longer be playing wow. The guild bank has over 350k gold, and a lot of stuff in it, so I did not want some random taking it

Looks like I need to go log back in then. That would be bad. My Horde guild is essentially a bank, but my Alliance one has 100+ members in it. A lot of potential for mischief.

Im in a guild, my own guild. Kind of got tired of some of the drama of the other guilds i tried to be a part of. At least this way i can level and do other things at my own pace.

I'm rather new to the game, but me and my spouse have our own guild, just for the two of us (and a plethora of side characters). So I've never been in a "real" guild in WoW, but I have a lot of experience from guilds/leagues/clans from other games, and I don't usually miss the drama and stuff like that. In some games some people take things waaay too seriously (but then again, people do that everywhere) and it just stops being fun for everyone. One MMO that I used to play was almost more about politics than about playing the game itself.

That's not to say I have only been in bad guilds, not at all. I've met some great people, some of whom I still keep in touch with, even if we haven't played together in years.

I am currently in a social type of guild. We don't raid or anything like that. We just hang out, chat, do some mythics+ whenever we feel like it. it's very laid back and relaxed. I do join occasional PUG's but that's not with my actual guild.

I used to be a hardcore raider back before the MoP. I even raided in the first raids, 40-men Molten Core and so on. But over time, I just didn't find myself investing the required time anymore. If I ever join a raiding guild I want it to be good, not average. That's why I just stopped the serious raiding and joined a social, friendly based guild. It fits my playstyle right now so I am very happy.

My toons are in my own guilds. I have some in our defunct old raiding guild. One is the guild master. There are other guilds that were set up mostly as banks, but they are where I stash my toons.

I still have some lowbies that I PvP with sometimes. Since they are scattered across different servers, it was easier just to make a guild to put them in. That way, they could all access the bank. I'd get different professions on them and then make stuff for each of them.

This basically happened when my original server died. I made new characters on various realms to search for a new home. I joined an existing guild on the server I ended up choosing. The rest are still mostly in bank guilds.

I wouldn't stay in a guild where I wasn't having fun. I'd find another one that suits me better.

I used to be in a guild but I left long time ago, when I achieved my long term goals this included firming in silver wastes and dungeon, it got boring and was keeping doing the same things dungeons, fractals, and so on so I had to quit.

Haha, that's so true! Everybody makes a guild now. I even know people that have guilds that just consists of them and their alts, literally nobody else.

Do you remember when you'd get begged to sign the guild charter for random people? They'd always offer some silly amount of gold, like 10g, if you signed it - since you need ten signatures to start the guild.

It's a constant stream of new guilds. I can only imagine how many have started and then gone defunct. I've even bought guilds from people that tried it and quickly found out it wasn't for them. It's usually cheaper to buy one than make one and buy the bank tabs, since people just want to get rid of them. They are great for banking and storage purposes.

Yep, I remember making lots of gold that way on alts when I'd start a toon on a new server, ha ha. Sometimes, they'd offer 50-100, so that was helpful when starting from scratch. Now, you only need 4 sigs, so you're lucky if you get offered a gold or two.

I've been in three major guilds, one of which was a long and storied guild on Doomhammer; my native server. There were a few passing attendances in others in between but those three were the ones I spent years in. Sadly, when the game crashed in WoD the last great guild I was in fell apart and I've been slogging it through Legion mostly alone. It's really hampered my ability to grok dungeon mechanics, which is particularly embarrassing given how most people agree the mechanics in Legion raids have been easy mode. In WoW, when you fall behind it's hard to ever catch up and certain ways the system works in this expac have exacerbated that issue to a greater degree.

If anyone wants a Prot Warrior who needs a leg up on Doomhammer though, Theannia is my character and I'd be happy to raid with anyone who understands the balance between taking the raid sufficiently seriously, and "WOW IS LIFE GTFO!!!!".
