While boosting occurs in most multiplayer games it has become a particular problem in MW2 because of the Tactical Insertion perk which allows a player to choose their re-spawn point. Add a buddy to the mix and you have the perfect recipe for cheating.ÂÂ

This is entirely down to personal choice but some setups are better than others.
Any setups that include rocket or grenade launchers, grenades and Semtex are good at dispatching the boosters from a distance.ÂÂ

If you haven't got a good pair of headphones and cannot hear the tactical insertion click then try using the Sit-Rep perk to pin-point the tactical insertion flares.ÂÂ

Use rocket launchers to take down their Harriers, choppers and AC130s fast. They will be racking up kills at alarming rates.ÂÂ
If you find yourself being gunned down by their air support, use Cold Blooded Pro

If you need to get to them fast use a setup  that includes Marathon and Lightweight but this leaves you vulnerable to their air support.

Get a decent pair of gaming headphones. Not only are they awesome for normal gaming but are great for hunting down cheats. Keep an ear out of the tactical insertion clicks. If you can afford it, go for the surround sound models as they allow you to pin-point boosters with incredible accuracy.ÂÂ

When you join a game, back up and spectate all the other players. When you find 2 players huddled together in a corner of the map using their tactical insertions then you know what to do, go hunting!ÂÂ

When you start a game, use the same tactic and spectate for a minute (no longer or you will timeout). Check to see if a couple of players are heading off to a corner of the map somewhere. Be aware that some boosters are aware of this hunting tactic and start boosting after several minutes of play.ÂÂ
Be aware that boosters can often boost their way to about 1450 points, and then stop, swap positions, and the other booster will have a go.
Hunting boosters can be beneficial to you too as you often get a double kill every time you find them, and quite often a triple kill if you haven't destroyed the tactical insertion and one of the boosters re-spawns.ÂÂ

Be on the lookout for spotters. Boosters, especially those in booster clans, can often have someone looking out for them to stop people taking them out.ÂÂ
