Hey everyone,
Are you going to purchase Counter-Strike Global Offensive? It is set to release on August 21st and I am very excited for it. I started playing Counter-Strike 1.6, and then moved to Source when it was released. I have been participating in the CS:GO beta and love it. There are a few little things that have been taken out of the original Counter-Strike but I'm sure I'll eventually get over it.

Nonetheless, are you buying CS:GO?

I might buy it. I did play Counter-Strike before and it is a really fun FPS. So I might and might not it determines how things go. :p

I'd really recommend it. I've been playing the beta for a month now and they're releasing CS:GO for $15.00 which is an incredible deal. Normally, any type of game such as this is around the $40-60.00 dollar range.

It seems pretty cool, I might get it. :)

You can't really complain when usually a new game costs $60.00 and they're releasing CS:GO for $15. That's a pretty damn good deal, lol.

Indeed it is, but there really isn't a way for me to get $15 right know, I think. :p

Ah, that sucks. I'm buying it for me and a few friends because we've been gaming together for years and play competitively.

Eh, I'm not good at shooters so I don't play competitively but it is a lot of fun playing with others. Maybe you can add me on Steam and we can play a bit. ;)

Well, five years later now and I finally bought it. It's been a couple of years since I played a first person shooter game, and being that I liked playing Counter-Strike: Source I figured it was about time that I gave Global Offensive a try. Needless to say, it's a really good game. That being said, I also am finding it a bit infuriating at the moment since all my muscle memory and twitch reflexes have gone straight out the window. I think I'm going to stick to offline bots until I get better, ha.

I purchased it last month to see the hype but I was not impressed. I played the old one (CS 1.6) so I figure I'd know the basics, but I found that the game was more of a reskin of the old game more than anything else. Some maps added, but I think the main feature is to buy and sell items or even go to CSGO gambling sites. I played a ton of CS 1.6 as a kid so I really felt like the game was repetitive at best.

You and I are completely on the same page. I feel like the gameplay element has kind of gotten lost in CSGO. Now it's all about who has the best skins.

Which is more of a confidence boost for new and old players alike because it's easier to buy a skin compared to earn your rank in online competition. It's much easier to brag that you have a $100 item over having to grind 1000 hours just to reach the high ranks. Same goes for other games with in-game items that pay with real money. Dota 2 has it too, MMORPGs, etc.

Bought mine a few years ago on a steam sale. I feel that it was worth it and would recommend it to others. Skins are a big thing now since some skins goes for $100 or more. I think i read an article about a guy selling a knife skin for more than $10k.

I bought the game 3 years ago despite it not being on sale. I haven't regretted buying it even though I do not play it everyday. The game is fun and addictive. There can be games that are so exciting especially when your teammates and enemies are capable of proper teamwork and strategies. It is worth so much to play.

Personally, i think the game is a big step up from CS 1.6. The online system, weapon skins, game play, item drops and all that all adds to the fact. Vintage is always good and leaves that teenage year's nostalgia feeling but sometimes the new beats the old.
