So I have been thinking of this being a possible idea for a gamemode for a server in the future. Crusade RP.

*Edit* For those wondering about the melee system, I found one addon that would help: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=546724344&searchtext=medieval

*Edit 2* Jordan found ride-able horses: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=820572305

*Edit 3*
Changed it to be Templars v Barbarian Invaders. Also adding a document for expanding the gamemode ideas: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1LmeJkPpsFeAajUnix4vCh6XzLqHJBdwAozVFl7RYcBg/edit?usp=sharing

Now what is Crusade RP?

The groups/factions:

Knights Templar: The famous Knights Templar (or Templar Knights) first started out as caravan guards that later helped with trade by helping create the use of paper currency, and became holy soldiers for the catholic church. This is part of the European group and will be where the majority of the server populace will be. If you are interested in how the ranking and structure system for the Knights Templar would work, here is a link:
http://getasword.com/blog/608-knights-templars-ranks-and-organization/
For those of you too lazy to click the link and read it, I will now post all of the ranks/jobs that would come with this from lowest rank to highest rank: (There will be lots of copy pasting/editing)

- (Lay) Servants: They do work for anyone within the Knights Templar be it masons or officers. This will be the starting group

- Squires: People who's duty it was to serve a Knight in anyway possible, be it from shining his sword to feeding his horse. These people at first were hired and later became what we know them know as men who went through trials in order to become knights

-Footmen: Not as trained or skilled as the Knights Templar, but were necessary as training and arming knights was expensive and time consuming. These men are often of low social status and arent given much in protection besides chainmail and leather armor.

-Sargent: People of lower birth or social status than nobles, but were still officers in the calvary. They are generally observed to be wearing black/brown cloth with the red cross on it.

-Knight: The back bone of the army for the Knights Templar. It is said that the only way to get in was to be in a lineage of knights, be of noble birth, or to pass the trials of being a squire.

-Standard Bearer: One who is in charge of all the squires. His duties were to keep the squires in line and to make sure they did their jobs properly. To much surprise, these men did not actually carry the flag into battle, but marched in front of the flag.

-Under Marshal: Is in charge of supply lines as well as carrying the flag so that men do no get lost in battle.

-Marshal: The Marshal was in charge of all arms, as well as all horses. He was very much a military man, and a Master would usually consult with him, as well as the Seneschal and the Turcopolier, before making any final decisions on tactics.

-Turcopolier (Commander): Third highest rank in the military, he was in charge of all light cavalry and sergeants.

- Seneschal (Grand Commander): The local commander in charge of local Templar "cities" and strongholds. Held complete command over the battlefield.

- Grand Master: A position that was granted for life. This man was in charge of the entire order of the Knights Templar world wide. The only way to leave this position is to die, or rarely, be pardoned by the Pope.

- Chaplain Brother: While not being a rank within the Order, it is one of the most important positions within a Templars. The job came with many delicate layers of meaning. He was sort of the internal priest for the Order. He had the power to hear confessions and to give absolution for sins. In fact, Templars were forbidden to say their confession to anyone else without a papal dispensation, which simply means special permission from the pope. This is a very important point, because in effect, what the pope did was to make the Templars spiritually, as well as politically, independent from the rest of the Church. They were not answerable to local clerics or bishops, but only to the pope.

- Pope: The leader of Roman Catholic Church, and thus, the leader of the Knights Templar. While the Templars and the Church were not directly linked together, the Knights Templar was a Holy Catholic Army, and thus followed the Pope.

*Other Jobs in the Knights Templar*

Draper
The Draper was in charge of all the clothing and bed linen of everyone in the Order. He also had the power to oversee everyone of every rank, and to chastise them if their clothing was not proper for their position, or if anything decorated it, such as a collar of fur on a knight’s white robe or mantle.

Treasurer
The Treasurer’s duties are clear — this was the guy who kept the books.

Commanders of the Lands
These Templar officers operated much like a Baillie and operated under the Masters. Commanders were responsible for all Templar houses, castles and farms in their jurisdiction.

Provincial Masters
Provincial Masters, who governed the western districts, were similar to the Commanders of Lands, but seem to have largely been responsible for managing revenue and recruiting new men to the Order.
==================================================================================

Now it sure would be somewhat boring if all there was were the Knights Templar. Which is why for game makers there will be barbarians. They are smart, they siege cities in weeks, and they are mobile. Do not underestimate them.

This group will not have many jobs as they are only used for events much like the CIS on CloneWars. The job's will include as following:

- Chieftan: The leader of all barbarians.

- War Chief: Assists with leading the army.

- Barbarian: The back bone for the horde.

==================================================================================

Also just to give a little more room for RP: there will also be a small group of civilian jobs.

- Civilian: Your average peasant.

- Merchant: Provides goods to the local populace. This also includes being able to run Taverns/Pubs.

- Priest/Nun: A local who has dedicated themselves to their faith.

==================================================================================

Now that you are done reading that rather large wall of text all that is left to say is that I anticipate your feedback on this idea for a game mode. Maybe if this gets enough attention we can bring it up to the founders and have them decide when it would be added. Also while this is being reviewed, I will try compiling a small collection of workshop items that should help with the server.

I wanna use a squeaky voice when being a squire.. Like the ones in Fallout 4 BOS missions.

Hey why not have 3 towns/cities one town owned by the crhistans/chafloic, one town run by muslisms and the 3rd town in run by the jews or you can make it be runned by the Bandits. Basically 3 sides!

Don't believe that would be good, as you want open space for the map since it has some Hunting RP in it and other RPs requiring wood land, If you add 3 city's to the map it would have to be really small aswell as it would take up space for RP
