In a somewhat cryptic posting on the official Dawnguard message boards, Bethesda said that the technical issue preventing Dawnguard on PlayStation 3, "is not a problem we’re positive we can solve." Here's the full statement:

It's been a few weeks, and we wanted to make sure everyone knows where we're at with Dawnguard. Skyrim is a massive and dynamic game that requires a lot of resources, and things get much more complex when you're talking about sizable content like Dawnguard. We have tried a number of things, but none of them solve the issue enough to make Dawnguard good for everyone. The PS3 is a powerful system, and we're working hard to deliver the content you guys want. Dawnguard is obviously not the only DLC we’ve been working on either, so the issues of adding content get even more complicated. This is not a problem we’re positive we can solve, but we are working together with Sony to try to bring you this content.

We wish we had a more definitive answer right now. We understand the frustration when the same content is not available on all platforms. When we have an update, we will certainly let you know. We deeply appreciate all the time and support you have given us, and we’ll keep doing our best to return that.

It's not a flat-out "no" in regards to Dawnguard and future DLC appearing on PlayStation 3, but it's not looking good.

Your logic here is foolish. That would be like saying because a CD didn't work in your car radio you should never buy a chevrolet. Or because your muffins didn't turn out that you should never buy kitchen-aid mixers. Or to invert this scenario, you should never by an Xbox 360 because Black Ops had a glitch. All of which are utter foolishness.

This was a developer issue. They did not take the time to properly address this issue when they were creating Skyrim. They probably figured they would simply patch it later (a common thought in this generation where more systems are online and can be patched). Though this also highlights issues with porting games because games are extremely complex and simply porting them often leads to issues given different architectures. Furthermore this shows exactly how hard it is to fix modern games because they are significantly more advanced than even last generation games. (With millions of more lines of code to pour through to find that one or two spots causing issues...)

Personally, I really don't care if this DLC comes to Skyrim, I never bought that game and I don't care about the Elder Scroll series either. (I found ElderScrolls to be pretty boring...)

Zero, I was just joking, each gaming console has its own pros and cons and I'm sure some DLC stuff only come on ps3 and not xbox.
