Do you invest real money on playing games

Most games today are played in such a way that one can be able to invest real cash into playing the game just to have a good team or set up and be able to play it with ease.

I have this friend of mine who invest around £50 monthly in one soccer game just to have a better team and beat his opponent to pulp. I have never considered doing this in any way because I see it as being a coward.

I have never invested that much but I do make some purchase every now and then for some upgrades. It is not just about competing with others. It is about achieving my own goals. Gaming is my hobby. I can spend a whole day playing some games without getting bored. Sometimes those upgrades make the game more interesting. I think that you must try it.

Yes I did, I have ever bought games from Popcap, Reflexive and Origin games, they are great games I could not miss.
Beside paid games, I played more free games and all of them are good games.

Yes, I have back when I had a lot of money I spent around $1,400 on fluff items on Everquest 2. I had over $180 invested in my house alone, and I didn't mind spending all that money because back then I mostly lived in virtual worlds. I would never spend that kind of money on a game today. I might buy something here or there but I wouldn't ever go over $50.

I've never been the person to care about cosmetics which is what I see a large amount of people spend real cash on in games. As for extra content if we're including DLC into this conversation, than i've derfinetly spent money on those as they generally add extra content to one of your favorite titles.

It depends sometimes for me, I will usually buy an Item on the steam market for a game depending on what the market is at, for example PUBG:

I bought a case for it and then sold it on the market for an extra 2$

To be honest with you, I spend some real money playing games. You know there are times you have to purchase a better ammunition from the game store and that's all about money. The passion I have for games make me spend some cool cash, but the truth still remains that we can't always win by spending money.

So, when I noticed that all it takes to win is by being good at how you play some games and all that, I decided saving some of those cash and using it to buy a bottle of coke and snack while I play the game. Gaming has been so much fun for me in the sense that I have come to learn so much from playing some games like Call of duty and the rest.

It's a nice way that you go with the real cash in your gaming hobby, since it's your favorite leisure, I do believe that putting in few cash wisely just to get the best satisfaction you desire with the game is not an entirely bad idea. As long as you don't over do it, I don't see much thing wrong with it.

Now that's something I would love doing myself as well and not just putting money for only plying sake without getting cash value in return. If I could buy stuffs and later resell them for added dollars, then the money invested is worth it 100%. I would do it over and over again to make more off such investment.

By football game, I presume you mean FIFA because it is definitely one of the worst games in term of having to invest more money into the game. You can play without investing in the game but it just feels like a grind unless you get extremely lucky with packs and get one of the top tier players. I actually have the game (FIFA 18) but gave up recently because of how boring and broken the game is. I actually was very lucky with packs and had a good team but the game was boring. So I just sold my players, sold my coins and managed to get $80 for it.

You are fortunate to have someone you sold to because most times, it's very hard to get someone to sell used games to. It's such a shame that most times the games we looked forward to getting a sweet gaming experience with ends up disappointing us along the way.

Oh, I didn't sell the game. I bought FIFA 18 digitally so I wouldn't be able to sell it even if I wanted to. But I actually enjoy the game, there are other modes that I can still play and be happy playing like career mode or the Online Seasons. What I sold were my FIFA 18 Ultimate Team coins which I got around $80 for it. I managed to sell a part of my coins to one site and the rest were bought by another big site for which I had to give my account information to. I just got fed up with Ultimate Team because it has become such an awful game mode because of things like packs and the horrible gameplay

I will never do that, but i know some people who willing to pay like your friend. Some of my friends also doing the same thing, paying someone just to upgrade their character. I think because they're too much addicted to the game, if that situation come to me, It's about time for me to stop playing that game.

Does playing arcade games count? ;)

Otherwise not really, although I have paid for some Hearthstone decks (although with money from Diablo 3 auction house back in the day), and technically I have bought some CS:GO skins while using free skins to make the deposits. Overall I'm not too much against the practice though, but it's not generally something I personally do when playing.

You are right on this, it is one of reasons why everyone paid for things in games
Or they wanted to win others in games then a payment for their characters are necessary.

You are absolutely right, addictive tendency to games is the reason why people would go out of their way to invest crazily into games and end up regretting it in the end. This happened to one good friend of mine back in the days he was a strong addict to games but I'm glad he has dropped that behavior.

I agree Also I wouldn't want to invest in a game that's really not gonna work as you can see the market very few paid games to receive a 5 star out of 5 sometimes the company who games pay a few users or its their staff team who puts a review that's fake and when you buy the game you realize it doesn't work at all.

Sometimes I do, especially if I really like the game and I already spent countless hours playing it. It is also a way of supporting the developers and publishers of the game if you will pay or do some micro-transactions within their game.

I have spent some money on games that I've played, but I'm very picky and I save a lot of money by just spending on 1 really good game per year, sometimes 2. It helps that I also play MOBAs and older games which are free so if I can't find anything interesting to buy, I still can enjoy playing other games.

Yep, a lot, if you want to play new games then naturally you have to buy it, I've got several gaming consoles at home and I have to spend for new games that my kids like on a monthly basis.

I mean I've only ever invested in games in the sense that I pay for the initial cost to own it, and that's about it. Maybe I'll pay something extra if a DLC I like comes out, but it has to be story related. If it's just some sort of cosmetic addition or special item, I don't really care for paying real money for it.

Anyone who knows me knows that I'm very anti-microtransaction. I think that they make game developers lazy because they give you some half-effort base content and then convince you the game is more fun if you pay for a bunch of extra content that they add over time. I only support developers who include complete, good content for a base game and price.
