Do you rather play alone? Or with friends?

Hi, Luispas, this depends on the game and other factors like my friends if they can join the game or not. Me personally I prefer to play in a multiplayer having my friends near me. But sometimes if there is no one of my buddies I do play alone, but I am trying to find someone known on the game or just try to make friends there!

As for that choice, I really don't have a favorite because I like to play alone or in a group (it doesn't matter ). The thing that ends up defining this is my mood when I decide to play it. :tonguewink:

I prefer to play with my friends because it is a lot more fun than playing alone, to me at least. So I'll always prefer to play with friends than just myself.

It's always fun to play with friends (the game seems to get even better ), but... Depending on your mood, don't you rather play alone? I feel that way sometimes. :smirk:

I enjoy playing with friends! Especially once I've completed the missions or story mode within the game itself. It provides another perspective of an offline multiplayer experience.

Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with solely playing alone. It can get boring sometimes, though DLC and modded gameplay can fill the dull moments.

Playing alone is what I prefer mostly. However, I don't mind the team contests from time to time :D

I love playing League alone, it's better in every aspect, as you say one can learn faster, you know that you have the most of the blame, you don't have to wait for none, it's better and simple. I think that I have a very competitive mind so that's the reason why I like to play on my own.
I can accept to play with friends, but this is something that happens on special occasions, when there is increase of IP, or when I can gain something.

Depends on the game and on the community also. Usually, i prefer games that offer you the option to play with a team but don't force you to do so. Don't get me wrong I do love a good team play every now and then but when you need to relax it is not so great to have teammates that won't support you or children that curse and swear all the time. So most of the time I prefer a solo game, you can play in your own terms.

Well, sometimes my friends don't play like I do, that is why I use two different accounts and it makes good to me, one of the accounts is for me to play alone, and the other one is to play with my friends, I like to be a lot more serious in my solo account and in the other account I use to enjoy the time spend with my friends.

Alone, alone and strictly alone. I can't seem to immerse myself quite enough when I'm playing with other people around, I just can't take them seriously enough. You start to point things out and laugh about them, and you stop and giggle at every mistake instead of getting right back up to try again. It's not necessarily worse, it's just...less engaging.

Yep been there. I don't discard the co-op experience altogether but it has way more cons than pros in my opinion. I do enjoy it occasionally with none other than my best friends. I think friendships are much more interesting and enrichening to one's life in the real world. Especially female friendship ;)

Most of my friends don't even game, much less have a preference of the many around. I recently met with a few gamers at my school but after years of solo play, I cant enjoy thier slap-stick rpgs. I prefer games with strategy, story and yes humor. :/

Haha, I feel ya. Sometimes it's nice to play games together to fill some empty timespans or as an excuse to spend an evening together, but if playing is all we do I can't fully enjoy neither the game nor the time spent together. Board games are somewhat different, you can take your time and you don't feel as "disconnected".
Online multiplayer is different because there aren't as many distractions, so that's somewhat better, but I don't know if that's what the question referred to.

I feel you bro, it is the same for me, some friends don't play the games that I play and they are the more close to me, and the other ones that play the games aren't that close to me, and the same as you, I prefer strategy games with story, I don't know, the rpgs bored me...

Yeah, board games are different mostly due to face to face interaction. I think the problem with the gamer generation is that they replaced real life with video games. Don't get me wrong I love playing. The alternative universe (Many universes in fact) that video games provide us with are a fantastic experience. Still, real life should always come first. I wouldn't trade drinking a beer with my buddies for an online playing session for that very reason.

I guess I'm more of a loner, so the latter is much more frequent than the former for me, but I still agree. There's time for both and you need to reach a healthy balance: I can't stand being in company of other people all the time, but being by myself all week long will drive me mad on the long run. They're both enriching experiences in good doses (and in the right way, of course).

Preach. I started to draw from boredum as well. I cant sit still in public gatherings, so there is escape #2.

Oh sorry to hear it, bro. But I get you. I used to be like you in my teenage years. My vision of the world changed so much after I left for university. I don't think anyone should be the life of the party, making friends to everybody because I am really not like that. Still, i have few close friends that I value very much. Being friendly doesn't mean letting everyone into your life. Everything in the right dose like you said.

Oh, that sounds like a really neat activity/escape. I'm terrible at drawing, but I imagine people randomly asking portaits must be like those who say: "Oh, you know *insert random language*? Tell me something!", haha.

No way you can be friends with everyone, yeah. I do have a few close friends as well, but we're pretty much alike and we all need our own time and space, so we mostly meet after our morning classes. I'm pretty at ease with things as they currently are right now, it's not I'm completely isolated from society: I just really like having a few plays by myself. Thanks for the concern, though!

I can never find solitaire playing alone, I always find it more interesting than playing in groups because I always get more focused (and this is obviously better for me)... Although playing in a group is more fun.

No problem man. We all need our own time and some people need more time alone than others. I like being around friends more than I like being by myself because I spent a great deal of my life alone. Good to have people you can count on around ;)
