I used to be really interested in graphics design and making pixellated art. So yes, I have designed logos for myself before and for others. This was over ten years ago though. I haven't even used any graphics design programs since then so I can only imagine how terrible I would be right now.
Making a good logo can be much harder than it seems. People just think you put some image there and few colours.. text and that's it. But that is far from the truth. A quality logo takes a long time to develop and draw out in the programs. You have to fit things together so it all makes sense and it matches your initial vision. It is a very creative process.
