What do you think will come in next exps? Blizzard announced there will be at least 2 or 3 expansions after that so what should we expect? Brainstorm!

I stopped after Burning Crusade, so I can't even begin to understand WoTLK and all the ones that followed. But it only makes sense since they did the outerworld and outlying lands, Chinese/Japanese Architecture with Pandaria, and broke the game with Cataclysm.. Maybe they could make the moon a viable place, or somewhere not on the mainworld again like the floating lands.

Hm... I don't know. They've done pretty much everything. Maybe just another island? Maybe an underground civilization? Or maybe like Shimus said, the moon or another planet? I'm surprised they're doing another 2 expansions - I haven't really followed WoW much since I quit after Cata but I thought the game was kind of dying, but I guess they've still got more subscribers than any other MMORPG and Blizzard are going to milk the cash cow for all it's worth.

I could see them going inside the planet, before leaving it actually. Good point. They already did outside. So where's the inside expansion?

They've really done it all, so far. Without adding anything gamechanging in these expansions, it would probably feel re-done and over-done. I hope they keep it spicy, even if I don't play the game, because I have a fair number of friends who still do and I don't want to hear them griping for years.

Hah.

Story wise, there is lots they could do. Gameplay wise. They need to remove Group/raid finder, stop babying the players and go back to vanilla days. Although this is coming from a Ex EQ player so.. I like a little challenge.

Whatever it is, I think they should let Outland finally disintegrate.

WoW has just gotten way too crazy with their storylines.

Shame, I found Wrath of the Lich King to be my favourite. Mostly because I completely fell in love with both the Arthas and Death Knight story lines. The Arthas lore has always been my favourite part of the warcraft universe. Defeating the lich king for the first time in a huge mmo with an epic group of friends will always be one of my most memorable gaming experiences.

I can't say the same for the next couple expansions. Cata just ruined the game for me completely. I have never been able to get back into it since. At least not on a long term scale. MoP was better than Cata, but that was probably just because Cata was that bad. Only thing I remember about MoP was the grind! Daily after daily after daily after daily. They even removed the daily cap. (You use to only be able to do 25 daily quests a day) Because of the amount of dailies they made you do.

The current expansion seems to be a lot better then the previous too. The lore is alright, and the way everything was put together this expansion I found to be pretty nice compared to the past. It felt a lot like vanilla again, only with a lot more stuff, and a lot more new features. Was fun to play again.

Regarding the OP's question in the next expansion, there has been many rumors (as there always are) I just hope demon hunters make it into the playable race one day :)

I don't know, but my interest really died the "Wrath of the Lich King". I didn't like the way they handled the storyline, and especially Arthas.
I'm a big fan of Arthas and the Warcraft lore, but I can't help but feel that these recent expansions, weren't that well thought out. For the most part, they feel so uninspired and somewhat directionless. I wonder what happened to Blizzard, but I guess they don't care that much anymore because no matter what, people will pay for their game. I'm not saying that they don't want to be good, it's just that the numbers and the profit probably show positive results so they probably believe they are doing the right thing.

It's hard to say, since they seem to be all over the place. From out in left field with Pandas, to going back to Outland. I have to wonder if the next big thing will be another left field gimmick or another backtrack or if they will come up with something that people have wanted for a long time (so much for that Emerald Dream expansion everyone was talking about for years, right?).

I wish they would get back to their roots too. The game isn't the same any more. They seem to have fallen in love with the cash shop and fallen out of love with making the game great. I'd personally love to see them skip the next expansion and make legacy servers (or do both).

This game suffers from horrible writing and the company is obviously just after people's money. It's our fault that we keep paying for this crap, because based on the data, and the profits, they are thinking that they have a good thing going on with WoW. I feel sorry for the franchise. It used to be a high quality, well-thought out idea that captivated a lot of people with a lot of lore and magic and effective world building.

Today, it has fallen into nothing more than a cash grab. So consumers, if you really want to send a message across, stop buying into this shit.

Sadly, I think you're description is pretty accurate. I have stopped paying for it, but I still miss it. I play my veteran account from time to time, when I really miss playing. Then, I remember why I stopped.

They could give something back to their longtime loyal fans and host legacy servers. That would earn them big brownie points with me, instead of the bad taste they left in my mouth.

I always resubscribe every new expansion with some buddies. We always have our attention focused for about 2 weeks. Then eventually people start getting bored. Slowly we all start unsubbing. After last expansion ending and how they basically ret conned a lot of material I started to lose faith in Blizzard's writing.

Wow, really? I don't think I've ever given up after only two weeks. Do you raid or do PvP? A lot of people can barely finish leveling and doing dungeons for starter gear or get mats to craft some gear by then. It usually takes a while to get PvP gear as well. I guess if you don't really do any of the end game stuff I can see how you'd get bored pretty quickly. You might want to try it though. WoW does end game much better than it does questing.

What I really want is an expac that goes back to old world themes and has our characters become background players in a larger war. I don't feel a need to keep upping the steaks with more and more abstract forms of evil. For me this game was always at its best when the Alliance and the Horde were at each other's throats and the ethics were fuzzy. For that reason I want the old god expac that is clearly coming next to start with Jaina having usurped the crown in the military's absence. Having lost control of her faction-pure Kirin Tor, she uses Wryn's throne as a base of operations to commit genocide on the Horde. She begins with the easiest and most aggressive target: Lordaeron! Most of the first patch is all out open warfare in the old zones with Sylvannas' legions of undead.

Meanwhile Sylvannas has gone full Lich Queen, having lost her opportunities with the Valkyr. She reanimates at will, keeping a whole underclass of zombie warrior as slaves to undeath while spreading the plague farther south than ever before. This sets the prelude for all hell to break loose in Azeroth as the old gods manipulate the faction leaders against their better interests, allowing the Void Lords to poison the world egg.
