It keeps me interested for longs amount of time, and that what I love about games. Not a big fan of playing a lot of different games. Quality of quantity.
I think my favorite PC game genre is probably FPS. In all honesty, I'm horrible at FPS games on consoles. Xbox One or PS4, it doesn't matter. I prefer playing FPS games with a keyboard and mouse. Second would probably be MMORPG's as I've made a plethora of good memories those. Action-adventures in open world maps like Grand Theft Auto 5 is also a notable mention and thoroughly fun on PC. Once again, another game I prefer using PC than console.
RPGs and FPSs are my favorites but if I had to choose one I'll go for the one that keeps me entertained for longer and say my absolute favorite is RPGs.
I definitely like playing FPS (First Person Shooters) as that is the underlining feature why I prefer to game on a PC. Games like Counter Strike Global Offensive and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege are games which I especially like as the style of strategy really appeal to me. I also like to play MMORPGs’ but as said before, my favorites are FPSs’.
It is so hard for me to specifically say ''this is my favorite type of game genre'' because I enjoy so many different ones... I honestly play such a wide variety of games that it's crazy. It often depends on my mood.
But I do guess that overall, my favorite type is MMORPG - you know those good type with open world, free roam, lots of character customizations, stunning environment, tons of quests and side things to do AND an incredible plot? Yes, those type. I always find the MMO games to keep me very entertained and busy for ages. They take a lot of time to finish and I think that's how games are supposed to be - you shouldn't ''beat'' a game in one day.
I don't actually have a favorite genre since I like almost everything - with a few exception like some sport games.
But if I have to pick a genre in which I have most beloved games, I would go with the kind of obvious choice of FPS. They belong to PC, they are the core of PC gaming. They don't belong to consoles in my opinion, I can't think about playing them without a mouse and keyboard.
I would have said also action games similar to Devil May Cry but there aren't that many on PC, they are mostly console games.
When I'm on a console, I think it's a great opportunity to play RPG games like the witcher 3 and metal gear. It's also the best place to play hack and slash games like Devil May Cry and Bayonetta as well as fighting games like Tekken or Dead or Alive. These games are what the console is there for. When it comes to PC however, I personally believe this platform is best suited for FPS games and RTS games. It's just absolutely ridiculous to play FPS on a console. You can tell right away that it isn't meant for this platform. Auto-aim anyone? Can you imagine playing StarCraft on a playstation? That would just be absurd.
I really enjoy the thrill of first-person shooters, such as Call of Duty and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. I play mainly Counter-Strike since I have a lower tier PC that can hardly run Call of Duty.
tactical rpgs and ccgs. I really like tactics game like FF:tactics, X-com, fire emblem and front mission. Grew up playing these kinds of games and it really stuck with me till I grew up. I also am a fan of CCGs since I have been playing magic since I was a kid and I have been looking for a substitute.
For me, it would be MMOARPGs. It keeps me engaged and interested, the feeling of competing with other players for a certain goal, or just hanging out with random people, blurting out a random joke and suddenly you end up having friends, it's amazing for me. Although I'm quite choosy because I mainly like Action MMOs, it's a lot more skill oriented for me, and most of them have great combat systems.
MMORPG, Online Sports RPG, Sports, MOBA and FPS. I think my most favorite would be Online Sports RPG. I like sports and there's something special in creating your own character and leveling up then beat other opponents with it.
The truth is that both PCs and consoles have their respective advantages, but when it comes to certain genres, the PC clearly offers more for various reasons – such as greater graphical power, better control schemes, modifications to inject more life into games, and so forth.
I like simulators though I don't have any simulation game on my pc now.
I installed once (long time ago) Need For Speed most wanted and it was a really fun game. I spent hours running away from the cops lol. I don't have it now cause I don't own a PC anymore, I have a laptop right now and it's not very practical for this game in my opinion. So yeah, this is my personal favorite game.
I generally have no preferences. I like RPG games a lot, but what always made me love certain game was the story. No matter the genre. As long as the story and characters were great, I could play anything
My favorite PC genre is RPG, because of the endless possibilities that you have while playing them. And of course, customization which is the most fun part. I also like strategy games as well. Developing your playstyle thorough playing these games and tactics, it is fun, online even more. But I don't play strategy games online that much, RPG also.
I think I prefer first person shooter. Mostly the horror genre in that game is worth exploring. As you can see each year there are lot of things that can be found. Also this genre is really good. You should definitely check it out. I think serious sam and unreal tournament are some of those games which I just loved playing in the past.
