Multiple Screen

I have been wanting to set up a PC specifically for the Microsoft Flight Simulator X. This flight sim supports multiple monitors and I want to setup mine just like that. What do you think is the best way to set up my PC using at least 4 LCD monitors? I want to make it 4 to make it look realistic! Any tips on hardware compatibility?

Any monitors of the same size should generally be fine to use for a multiple monitor display. I use two monitors for my setup and all I had to do was connect them and change the display settings.

Yeah I think that would be awesome but I don't think it's necessary. I can play perfectly fine without getting confused with too many monitors in each side. I am willing to say though that playing Battlefield with multiple screens is the way to go, especially when you're flying a jet. Makes dog fights easier with a wider vision.

Yeah, i would prefer a single monitor. I do get distracted very easily, it's very hard for me to focus in a single place let alone multiple. I suck at FPS for that ver same reason, I can never tell what is happening and where it's happening. Still, in simulation games, I agree it would be awesome. I would definitely give it a try.

I would be able to stand 2 monitors, not to mention 4 of them. I prefer it on 1. What I hate the most about setups is the line in between the monitors, that really annoys me, I could never stand playing a game like that. I have ran a 2 monitor setup once, but not for gaming. And they were not connected.

Indeed. It feels kida off doesn't it? Like two separate games in two different screens even if they do look a lot like the other. This reminds me of the early days of split screen multiplaying. How in the world could we even play that haha.

Why you need to see multiple monitors? This will get out your attention, and most of the time you will get confused. Anyway this is your problem, but what is your Windows on your PC? You must provide more info to get an accurate answer for this issue. You can try Linda and Fsuipc softweare to assign keys but i don't think it would help you that much.

I prefer a really large widescreen monitor over 4 really small ones next to each other. I can't take a game seriously or believe in the immersion when there's the gap between monitors, distorting the view of the player and really making it look weird overall. I'd rather just have one, at least the screen space is all for gaming, and not like you are looking through a window while playing.

I would prefer to have 2 wide screens max. I usually multitask so I would like to put a game on one screen and work on the other. As for your question, I do not think there would be any problem with hardware compatibility as most monitors are plug and play. With 4 screens you need to research which video card can support up to 4 monitors.

For my desktop PC I have 16'' inch display screen and I think it is more than enough. I can attach to the TV also but not making use of that as of now. I think any console and single display is more than enough. I think in case of the console TV with 32 inch display is more than enough and gets things done properly.

Either 2 widescreen monitors or 3 normal sized monitors will do the trick. Anything more than that would be a bit overkill. I'm pretty sure that Virtual Reality would be cheaper at this moment in time than to buy 3 1080p monitors though to be honest.

Virtual reality sounds great but I don't think gaming has optimized it yet to the point where it would replace a good monitor. For multiple ones, for me it doesn't look good when there are gaps in the screen where the monitors meet. A curved large monitor is awesome for gaming, so I'd rather have that. One big monitor is better than small ones split to simulate a bigger one.

I've heard so much praise for dual monitors setup, and I'd love to try that one day. The closest thing I tried was connecting my PC to the TV (I really needed two screens at once), and it would have been awesome if I didn't have to constantly move my head to look at either monitor.
Setups with three screens are a bit overkill IMHO. Unless you have a racing sim setup or are really into FPS games, you won't really need it.

I'm using a 27 inch single monitor for my rig now. As much as I would like a dual monitor, I do not find the need to get another at the moment. I plan to upgrade my graphics card first before considering for a dual monitor setup.
