Nintendo Is Releasing A New Handheld Called The 2DS

This is not a joke, nor is it a typo. Nintendo has announced a new handheld that strips the 3D out of its popular 3DS device. The Nintendo 2DS is a real thing, and the form factor is different than its brethren.

The 2DS is a slate-like device that doesn't fold. The target of the lower price point device are youths, and the 2DS is described as an "entry-level" portable.

It will retail for $129.99 and come in red and blue. It will be available on October 12, 2013, which is the same day as Pokémon X and Y. It will play all DS and 3DS titles.

I don't think it will sell good, considering the Nintendo systems haven't been selling good recently.

Not sure of the sales, but I think this has been doing good since the 3DS now has a nice supporting library of games. I just wish this flipped like the 3DS but I doubt I will ever get it.
