They limit Rebellions per day.I strongly disagree with this idea. Having a color-fested forum is not only unappealing to the eye but would also take from future purchases. Highly doubt anyone would find the need to buy something that they could spam for. I'd personally look down upon this forums if so was done.
Money isn't really a issue. People would like this issue.Even so I'd still be waiting for that rather than paying. As a non-premium member you suggest this as it is a way for you to gain w/o paying which means you would use that barrier and wait upon it. By that logic many others would too leaving this as a non-profitable, colorfested, "I'll log back in tomorrow to post" kind of forum.
It's good to want something, but what do you do when you have it all? You get a pretty colored name tag, from personal experience, it's not much once you have it.
Except it's not. There are a finite number of GR codes. Rebellions are constantly generated. Once you've run out of codes and everyone and their brother has bought Premium with Rebillions instead of cash, the only way to get more codes is to pay out of pocket. The objective of any community with a "premium" function is to be self-sustained. That's not possible if everyone is using forum currency instead of actual currency to pay for premium services. If they don't purchase Premium, they purchase games... using up a GR bought game code. If they get Premium instead, it is allowing those Rebellions to go back into the pool thereby saving those Rebellions to purchase actual goods. It is a way for those without the cash to support the forum.
Just IMO.

I see. Wording threw me off for a minute and made me think you were implying that the GR game codes could replace the actual Premium system as a source of support for the forum. My bad >.>That's what I am saying. If people purchase Premium with the codes rather than games, it doesn't cost GR anything. Rather, if they bought the codes, it does.
In the end, Rebellions are accrued so slowly, its not like it would be more than a few people. They help encourage activity, making it more appealing for new members. New members that may bring more cash to purchase games/premium.
Except that first part doesn't meet what this thread is getting at. It's a non-premium user wanting a free subscription from posting. The ops' objective is to avoid paying, not buy rebellions and decide. If you're paying, you may as well pay for what you want. Regardless of how much it would possibly cost, it would be less than a game, I'm positive, and would lead to many people having it. Are you fond of playing a game whereas everyone is a donator but you? I'm sure that's how new users will feel. That's what I am saying. Are you positive about that or is that just your theory? I recall a happy owner when he received his first donations. If money isn't an issue then why aren't there more games on the market now and why are many of them sold out?Money isn't really a issue. People would like this issue.

Using my own hosting company Own my own servers. However, now that I quit my job, those servers bills are going to be very very expensive!Pretty sure Hostgator or whatever company is being used doesn't accept Rebellions. I'm willing to bet that many of the active members would prefer this place remain Ad-free as well.
Money is an issue As I have jut previously said, I just quit my job. I'm moving away to an entire new province. I own and run over 30 different websites that I also have to put money into. I put nearly $2,000 into this one so far alone. Not including the free games I have given out.Money isn't really a issue
I'm going to have to agree. I will explain my reasoning later down.Having a color-fested forum is not only unappealing to the eye but would also take from future purchases.
We currently do not limit the amount of Rebellions you can get per day. It was discussed with Blake. However, ultimately it was never implemented. It still may be put into effect in the future if we happen to get an out of control user base xDThey limit Rebellions per day.
I highly agree with his statement. I probably could not have said it better myself. My stance is that premium is something that you buy out of passion for the community and willingness to support the maintenance of the site, not something that should be purchased just by posting enough. Its not something that is needed and should be taken as a way of keeping the forum online. Things like this help us cover costs of games and the other things we give out on the store too so buying it with rebellions isn't a good idea in my opinion.
I do see where your argument is. You are right in a sense. I buy the games and put them in the shop. Someone using up their Rebellions on something else other than games will ultimately be able to have a game stay in the shop and I would not have to buy another game to replace it.If they don't purchase Premium, they purchase games... using up a GR bought game code. But yes. We discussed ads in the past. We are not sure if we will ever implement them. If we do, they would be sold directly. And premium users would not see them.

However, as @Martin stated, premium subscriptions are something someone buys out of passion, and to help support the community. With no income to the forum, regardless, it would not be sustainable. So far everything has been pretty much out of pocket to help kick start the forum. From here on out, it will need a way to sustain itself.
Saving money and getting money are two very different things. I could have someone use their rebellions to get premium, and I would save money from having to replace it, however with out anyone buying premium with real money, there would be no other games going into the shop at all period.
Some Kickstarter? Idk.I agree with everything you said here however I like to see quite a few colours now and then on the forums. However, if we have no premium, how else does the forum receive an income to stand on it's own two legs.
Why would we do a kick starter and have them take a percentage of the amount raised when users could just as easily use the money on this site to buy Premium or Packages? Some Kickstarter? Idk.
