Steam Slow on my laptop Potential virus!

My Steam when I had it last time (since i uninstalled it the same time this issue happened) my laptop which is an Acer was running slow when I started my laptop Steam used to Update is there a way to fix this issue thanks.

Actually, yes, you can disable the automatic updater. Basically this happens because Steam opens and runs in the background automatically, but checks for updates each time it does that, so it slows down your other work on the laptop while it's doing that.
To stop this:
  1. You'll have to open Steam,
  2. go to the Steam Menu,
  3. then click "Settings".
  4. There should be a checked option that says "Run Steam when my computer starts", un-check the box beside the option and it won't start on its own again.
