The Mario games are some of the best classic games. It was really fun running around on a 2d course jumping on enemies and collecting coins. They are more fun than some of the newer Mario games like Super Mario Galaxy 2.

I remember an arcade I would pass on the way to school in the morning, and would spend my lunch money playing Time Pilot. The game would start out with prop planes, and you would work your way through history with each level. I remember on the final level, this flying face would chase your fighter around yelling "Run coward!". I remember that same arcade having Dig Dug as well, but I spent most of the Time playing Time Pilot.

I really wish we had more games in the Super Metroid vein - there are a lot that take cues from it, but the vast majority also slather some extra combat stuff on top rather than making exploration the most important Castlevania does this to some extent, which is probably why all the imitations and successors take it further.

Speaking of Castlevania, I also wish we had gotten a few more games like Castlevania IV - liberated from the abysmal jumping mechanics and rote memorization of the NES games, linear whip-smacking platformers instead of Metroid wannabes (not that Symphony of the Night and such aren't great games).

Those are probably my favorite classics because they still hold up and have only been imitated, not completely replicated.

Some of my favorite classic games would have to be Super Mario and basically any Mario game honestly, lol. I also enjoy Link because it was one of the first games I've ever played it so it means a lot to me.

I have a lot lot of favs but one that really stands out in my memory at the moment is Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance. This game was just brutal back in the day. After I learned how to do fatality with Cyrax I just went mental. Extremely violent I know.

If you have played Pacman, it can be considered one of my favorites in the olden days. I played it with my chums in school and we played for bets (although our betting is not money but favor). There were 7 of us and it's really great to play considering that we also have snacks and drinks. Pacman is a fast game so you need to have a quick hand and watchful eyes. You can guess that I was always the loser and my friends would be happy that I played with them even if I was below their level of skill. Sometimes I'm thinking of installing Pacman in our home computer so I can get a feel of it again. But no, I'm presently enamored with Candy Crush.

I spent lot of time in arcades playing Metal Slug: countless hours, always dying in the first levels because it was so hard, expecially for a young kid like I was. I immediately grabbed the games when they were released on Steam!
I'm also attached to The House of the Dead 2: I used to have the CD copy, and I played it a lot with my brother. Lot of fun... lots of memories...

I have a lot of love for the classic SNES rpgs. I actually never owned a SNES but I played them on an emulator. Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy III/VI (well, the one with Kefka...), Breath of Fire, Earthbound...playing those games was something magical. Once I stayed up for like 3 or 4 days straight because I couldn't stop playing Bahamut Lagoon...

Super Mario 3 and Prince of Persia are my favorite ones, for sure! Ms. Pac-Man is also one of the greatest classics of all time. Almost everyone, from my grandma to a 5 years old kid has played it.

My favorite classic game is hands down sonic the hedgehog. I like them all up to Sonic & Knuckles. After that, they all just turn to trash. I like the early Mario games. I don't play them as much now, because they seem too childish… Even though I'll play a Sonic game any day. I know, I'm biased. I also like any re-creation of Snake or Centipede. Which ever you want to call it. I can sit and play Frogger for about maybe 10 minutes before getting very bored with it.

Sonic and Knuckles. I found out that Hyper form was a thing in that game and was pretty excited.

Some games from the arcade I still play from time to time: D&D, street of rage, cadillac and the dinosaurs, captain commando, and AVP. The nostalgia and simpleness of the game makes it fun. I know that there are a lot of new adventure games that can beat these games but for me these are the best games that I grew up playing.

I'm a huge fan of the SNES era of gaming, so I have a pretty long list of games that I love from those years. To make it easier on everyone, I think I'll just make a Top 10 list, with the rank not necessarily equaling quality or favor.

1. Super Mario World.
2. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
3. The Mega Man X series (1-3).
4. Gradius 3.
5. Street Fighter II: Turbo.
6. Kirby's Dream Course.
7. Super Mario Kart.
8. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time.
9. F-Zero.
10. Yoshi's Island.

This just barely scratches the surface, but these were some of the most memorable for me. The SNES has a legendary library.

I'd say Gargoyle's Quest II and the first Castlevania. Those games to me, are fantastic. It may also just be me however because I typically like dark storylines, but I guess aside from that I also like the exploration. Gargoyle's Quest II was like my favorite game back in the days, because mainly there's an exploring part of the game and then there's the platformer part, which made me feel like I'm playing such a versatile game at the time.

Of older games, Heroes of Might and Magic 3, and Freelancer probably. Freelancer is amazing, the whole world exploration and traveling, stunning. And Heroes, it was my first game ever, that I got for my PC and it's still one of my favorite strategy games.
