Why does CoD: Ghosts get so much hate?

Ghosts for me was a good game even compared to Call of Duty's previous franchises. It's not Ghosts that I felt disappointed about but rather it is because of advanced warfare. They somehow overdid the game and forced it into a futuristic setting with technology of different sorts but it didn't feel like a Call of Duty game for me.
