Wii (and Wii U) Controllers vs The Switch Controllers

Not sure about The Switch controllers as I haven't tried the system, but I know all about the Wii (and Wii U) ones with their certain and unique way about them. Anyway, I'm wondering if The Switch is an abandonment of the old way and if there is some new way which is perhaps unique or better. Note, new gaming software is often trying to be on the edge.

The Switch is a good thing Nintendo release though its getting old anyways
