Well, I just updated my main laptop to Windows 10.
So far I am loving the new features.

The upgrade took a couple hours, but went very smoothly. Nothing needed to be fixed. (so far!) It will vary on your computer, and it's sepcs. I'm lucky I had no issues :)

One thing I am really enjoying right now is the multi desktop. You can run more then one desktop on your Windows 10 machine :)

Are you planning on upgrading?

I opted-in for the upgrade, but for some ungodly reason I can't update yet.

I get this crap:

It's a rolling update so you could be yesterday, today, tomorrow. There are ways to buy pass it(a media creation tool) that will get the install going whenever you want.

No way that I'm paying for a Windows product. :p Especially one that's meant to be free.

You can download the ISO file from there site. But it requires a key to activate. If you have any key for Windows 7/8 you can use that to activate Windows 10.

The word you are looking for is bypass ;)

So far I am really enjoying the new OS. I have no problems to talk about.

Let us know how it works out for you :)
It looks like it will work. The setup is asking me if I want to install it, but now I don't want to wait an hour to use my computer. :p

I've done it! The tool works, and I am now on Windows 10.

There may be a reason it wasn't available to my computer yet. Win10 is running terribly and everything is super slow. Now I'm thinking I should have just waited. If you're on the fence, I would reccomend waiting for Microsoft to upgrade you and not do it on your own. It takes me about 8 minutes to log in, and another 11 minutes before I can open up Google Chrome and it actually browse immediately after logging in. So, sitting at a 19 minute effective login time. Its painful.

It looks pretty though. :p

Wow, I have been using Windows 10 since March. It takes me about 18 seconds from turn on to desktop. Somehow though some people are getting it installed and its very very slow. Makes me curious why that would be? The only problem I have had since the current build of 10240 is the apps stopped working but yesterday they were working again. I did nothing to fix them they just were.

are you running the home version?
Updates are rolled out automatically to your machine. You can't turn them off either.

No, I always run the Pro version of whatever Windows I get, I have since XP. It probably did install an update and I never noticed. You should have an option to defer upgrades.

The validation servers are not working due to so many people trying to activate. I had the same problem on someone else's PC and tried for hours to get it activated.

Unfortunately, it's probably not windows 10, but something with you PC. Everything is editable so I'd recommend seeing what is taking up resources in task manager and going from there. After you turn off a few annoying things, it's actually faster then 7 and 8.
