The dictionary defines addiction as a strong and harmful need to regulary have something or do something (such as gamble or play video games). Take note of the words strong and harmful, and also the word need. You should be called a gaming addict if you already consider gaming as a need and in the process, you are also causing harm to yourself.
I've never reached the stage where I cannot live without video games. I never skipped meals or such. But I did play up to 1 or 2 in the morning before and I still do that sometimes today. If that's considered as harmful to me, can I also be considered as a gaming addict?
