How possessive are you for your games?

I currently own a gaming laptop, GAMING Desktop, Wii I, Xbox, Xbox One, N64, GameCube, Sega Genesis, Nintendo, Super Nintendo and a Wii. So yes you could I am a bit possessive

Extremely possessive. I'm emotionally attached to every single disk and cartridge I own, I have poured hours of my life into them and I'm surely not giving them away easily. I don't trade them in, and I've only borrowed them just a few times (and they were really close friends, so I knew I could trust them). I just like to take care of them, and I don't want to see years of attention thrown out of the window in a single day.

I never lent anybody a console though... that's just way too pricey to lend around. You really should be careful what you lend. If something bad happens or it breaks, it will ruin your relationship with your friend.

But when it comes to the digital lending of the games, then I am all for it since nobody can actually break those. I share my Steam library with my boyfriend and a great feature that Steam has. Together, we have SO many amazing games.

I'm sorry to hear that you have had a bad experience of sharing games. It is really immature and disgusting on your boyfriend's part for doing such an insane thing like this.

I agree that lending and borrowing do put relationships at risk but careful and sensible handling by both the parties can really add up the gaming fun. It is a mutual process where there is no place for an irresponsible behavior of any kind.

I'm only possessive to games with only one save slot. A good example would be an unfinished Dragon Ball Xenoverse. The save slots are all locked and you only get to play one, at that point I don't want anyone else touching the main story of the game. Even if there's the option to redo the previous missions, I still don't like it and I'd always want to be the first to see what happened. On games with multiple save slots, I don't really mind at all.

I think that I am not possessive, I like to share my games with my friends, it is the best because when they share one game with me I share one with them, I like to play new games and when they have one that I don't have they share it to me and I can play it, it is the best! The only thing that I cannot share are my consoles, I don't like to move them from my house.

Meh, I don't like sharing personally. It's my property, it's my loss when it gets damaged by careless borrowers. If they want to play the game, I'd suggest they buy their own. Trades are also an option but with the wrong crowd they won't even honor that type of arrangement.

I totally disagree about sharing. I used to share my games earlier on but however some people never returned my games. I spent so much money on buying some of those games but unfortunately I won't get to see those games ever again.

I'm not possessive with anything, in fact, I like to share games with my friends. We are good friends, and I give them...they give me back and so on. Why would I keep a game only for myself? It is better to share and play games with friends all the time, playing alone is boring!

I can totally understand your point and this was how I used to think earlier on. I used to share my games with my friends. However, I had a bad experience with some friends. I lent them some games which they never returned to me.

Depends on the person. Usually, i don't have a problem sharing my games and aye I think it's a fantastic experience to share game details and story. Still, i wouldn't hand my games out to just anyone. It's something I value not to the point of not sharing with anyone else but to the point of taking extremely good care of my games. So I need to trust the person a lot to let it near my collection.

I am a selfish and possessive person at heart. However, my mother always taught me to share. So, I typically don't have a problem sharing my gaming devices with others as long as I wasn't already playing something. I know that I wouldn't like for somehow to not share their things with me, so I keep that in the back of my mind when people ask to play my game.

When I used to play on consoles, I had no problem loaning my games to friends (as long as I knew I could trust them to take good care of my discs). If you're in a position to share your games, I see it as a great opportunity to introduce others to games you like as well as be introduced to games that other enjoy. Unfortunately, since I'm a PC person now, Steam makes it difficult to "trade" games the same way you would with a physical copy.

Anymore I don't share games with my friends as I can't really do that, but if I could, I'd always be more than happy to!

Yes, it is always the fear of damage that can be caused by others which holds us back. All of us welcome this procedure of exchanging games but the so called " just in case" factor pops in.

Agreed. To his defense, we were still very young and when you're a teenager and you just got dumped, you do stupid things. We never really talked after he did that though

I see sharing differently now but I still extremely vary about lending the physical discs. I prefer not to unless it's a game that I don't really care about. I do recommend the Steam sharing option to everybody though. It's 100% secure, the other person can't delete your games or anything dumb and it's fairly easy to set it up.

Well, to begin, I don't lend out games nor the consoles they belong too. I keep my machines and physical gaming copies in excellent condition. Unfortunately, people don't take care of their own stuff, let alone other peoples valuables. Because of this, I only trade and sell my gaming titles and accessories to the console itself.

Regarding your question, no, I'm not possessive for games (or anything in general). Though I do have certain items I claim for myself solely (like anyone should) that I want to keep in a particular condition. Because of that, not everyone has access to these items. It's not being possessive or selfish, we're just all entitled to our own possessions, to be honest.

I agree with you Jonathan, the truth is that people are careless when it came to other people's stuffs so I prefer to keep my things safe and Not put them at risk especialy when they are expencive, Cause I think I can be really mad! So to keep the coolness Let's notinclude lending stuffs like that

At the moment I don't share any games since I download them online and store them on my accounts. When I used to have CDs my friends would borrow them constantly, I would just charge them like a couple of cents per day. I made some good money as a kid from loaning the games I finished out.

Awww... I don't know whether it was good or bad to charge money for lending games to friends.

Well every person has his own outlook and I completely respect yours. But still, I of I was there in your place I would have never charged anything for sharing my games. It is a simple give and take relationship for me.

Well, the older ones I used to loan for free but they had to pay money for the newer ones. Simply because the games were new and I didn't have time to play them through meant they had to pay a little, they were taking time away from me. Anyway, I'm sure less than a dollar for a month of playing wasn't the worst deal ever for their parents. In fact, I think they actually liked the deal since they didn't have to buy their kids new games.

Quite possesive of my computer, only trust one of my best friends with it but in terms of lending games, not really fussed assuming they don't break them.
