I purchase all my games through Steam (I love Steam sales!) and G2A. Both have probably saved me hundreds of dollars, seriously. I'm also subbed to Humble Bundle so I get a great amount of (awesome) games every month for a little over $10 bucks. However, if there's a game I just have to have the hard copy of, I'll typically buy it through Amazon.

I usually purchase my games from Amazon, Game Stop, and in stores like Wal-Mart or Target. Games are expensive these days so it depends on if I want to go to the store or have it delivered. :p

I simply buy games at game stores or supermarkets where cash discounts are given upon cash payments. I realize that some stores don't offer these discounts to buyers. So, I don't buy games there.

Mostly Steam, and Origin. But lately I don't buy games at all. I got Payday 2 the other day for free on steam, and looking forward to play it with my friends. Before that I bought ARMA 2, 2 months ago, but didn't really have much time to try it out yet.

I usually buy my games on Steam. Sometimes when there is a huge sale I go to the Gaming Stores too, but nowadays that's pretty rare.

For PC games: 90% of my purchases are on Steam. I'd say most of the remaining 10% is through Humble Bundle which then get redeemed on Steam.

For Xbox games: Almost every game gets purchased from Best Buy as I'm a member of Gamers Club Unlocked which gets me 20% off as well as they routinely give you $10 in rewards money for pre-ordering AAA titles. They make it very hard not for me not to purchase it through them. If Amazon ever mimicked the GCU and gave pre-order bonuses, I'd probably jump to there since I'm a Prime member and I'd save the money it costs to drive to Best Buy.

I already bought games in physical stores and virtual stores, but today I consider virtual stores the best option to buy my games. My choice is basically because you can find better prices and more options of games. In addition, convenience is also one of the best benefits to me.

Mostly a mixture of the BGG marketplace, eBay, and direct orders from publishers. I do buy locally or from an online game shop occasionally. I'm primarily just looking for availability followed by pricing. I've had good luck with BGG/eBay for older games, and frequently order or pre-order from publishers for new titles.

As many others have said, Steam is by far the best option for PC. Aside from just selling games, Steam has Workshop, communities, groups, etc.
Not to mention the great Summer and Winter sales they have yearly. You can get some great deals you won't find anywhere else during those sales.

Most of the games I buy are bought from steam, mostly during the sales to save to extra money.

Steam for me. It's easier to get Steam credit where I live compared to other options which requires a credit card to do. I also do drawing jobs online which pay in PayPal, so it's added firepower whenever I see a good game on Steam and I can possibly get it. I have to be thrifty though because I'm not that rich, and my time's very limited to the point that I can only play about one game per month or so. I guess I grew up and priorities just change, huh?

I buy games on Steam, GoG, Gamestop, and the store available on the consoles. It depends on how I'm feeling, the price, and whether or not I have space on my console.

Gamestop tends to have cheaper prices than the online stores because of the pre-owned thing, but this isn't always the case, and I can only go to Gamestop when I'm at work. So I only buy games sparingly except for during sales on the online platforms.

Being that I play exclusively on PC at the moment, I get about 90% of my games on Steam. This is mostly because I like having an organized library the way Steam allows for, but I also usually wait until sales (like the Steam Summer sale right now) so I can get the best deals on all my games. Occasionally I'll hop on by Origin or Blizzard if they've put out something exclusive that I'm interested in, but that's a rare occasion. I think I frequent GOG more than either of those two.

Hm, interesting way of looking at it. For me, I like the fact that a lot of games are on steam. Simply for the fact that I like having everything in one place. I don't really like jumping around sites or platforms to play all of my games

Yeah, Steam all the way.Everything in the same place, no risk of losing or breaking your games, free game storage, lots of good deals. Also if a game doesn't run it's not a wasted money you can always upgrade your PC and try later. How about sending gifts to your pals? The steam is just awesome.

Well, I always but the PC games through Steam, but my PS3 games is very different, I don't have a single place to buy the games, I can buy them in amazon, in my nearest store or I can buy it in the PlayStation store.

You can also ask for a refund if you didn't like the game. Personally I think that's the best thing about Steam, because stores in my area will NEVER do that. They will say I already opened it, I used it already, etc; having the option to undo a purchase is an amazing way to try out games without fear that you will regret buying them in the first place.

I mostly buy all my games through Steam, beeing a PC player just makes it easier than going to a physical store to buy one.

Did you get any good ones in this month's sale? I just got 2 games so far; Ori and the Blind Forest and the 2013 Tomb Raider game. Got any suggestions? Most games that I look at doesn't appeal to me and I find it hard to spend money on them, even if at a discounted rate. I'm thinking of getting Far Cry 3 right now but I don't know yet.

I usually buy my games online because I can compare prices from different stores and then buy the game at the cheapest price. This is especially important when pre-ordering new games because sites tend to be more competitive to ensure they get more sales. I try to buy from well established places like Game (over here in the UK) and Amazon but occasionally I will buy from a less known site if the price is right. But I ensure that they have enough good reviews so that I don't buy from a non-operational site or get scammed.

I only really buy games from physical stores if I am buying a used game because my local game store tends to have good prices for used games that have been released for a long time.

I got Enter the Gungeon and The Darkest Dungeon with it's DLC The Crimson Court, lots of fun both, specially the second one is really challenging if you like turn based combat RPG games.
