I'm a big fan of retro games especially arcade games. I found a website where almost every 80's and 90's arcade games can be played. I tried playing some games using my keyboard and naturally, I had a hard time since 80's and 90's arcade games were designed to be played with arcade sticks or game pad. To cut the story short, I purchased a Logitech USB joystick and to answer your question, I prefer playing using USB game pad/joystick.

I have never played any kind of game with a keyboard except maybe chess. I'm not used to it and it seems like an uncomfortable way to play. It reminds me of people who use their fingers to navigate a laptop, not a mouse.

I mostly use Keyboards in gaming and for one things its hard to control the game or character it also gets difficult when the game lags a lot you know so I will say GamePad game that tend to lag are Steam Games on PC and Mobile games that are mostly 3D games such as GTA 5 PUBG and FiFa

I use a gaming keyboard the one with lights on it, I buy the cheapest models because I and my kids play on it and some keys gets busted over a couple of months. So whenever were playing I change keyboards and gaming keyboards usually last about 6 months before it gets issues and a replacement.

It depends on the game. There are games where a gamepad or controller feels more natural and comfortable. Games like NBA 2K, Hollow Knight, Dark Souls, etc. are some examples of games where I prefer gamepads over the traditional keyboard and mouse combo. MOBA, FPS, and 3rd person shooting games cannot be played efficiently by using gamepad so this is where I use keyboard/mouse.
