When it comes to consoles, wireless all the way. Even when gaming on my computer, must be a wireless mouse. I just find its a lot more comfortable sitting there without the hassle of cords. In my opinion, less cords the better.

Wireless, as Jordan said, cords are just a hassel. and I like to be up to get up and get a drink or something with my remote while waiting on next game to start on COD

Another wireless fan here! Both my console controller and my computer one are wireless. For the computer, I use one of the Logitech USB controllers and it's absolutely wonderful. I never had any problems with it, especially not because it would be wireless. I agree with Jordan. I just hate the cords everywhere and then I tangle myself up in them... I had a few incidents where I tangled myself into my headphones cord and spilled over a whole glass of juice, it wasn't a good day. Wireless all the way! Just make sure to get a good quality one so the connection won't be bad.

I actually tend to prefer wired controllers myself for those systems that have them, mostly because I find a direct connection easier to work with over having to sync and re-sync things constantly - not to mention batteries and charges do run out at some point. A lot of systems have you plug your controllers into the console as an option to charge them nowadays, though, so it's not usually a big deal in most cases.

I will admit that if I'm doing a lot of local multiplayer (which is a rare occurrence for me as I live alone), wireless is nice to have. But most of the time, it's just me, myself and I so passing around controllers or getting into the way of other people or objects is not really a huge concern.

My current setup won't be much good with wireless. I think I'd choose wireless in that case. I also think that those who have laptop should make use of the wired setup if they have any specific console or so, then wireless can be a good option. Otherwise with wired setup you're in much better option. Choosing either would do fine for you.

Wired all the way for me!

This is coming from a gamer who has been screwed over by a dying mouse on the most CRITICAL moment! Wired is so much more reliable. I also prefer wired headphones. Reliability over Flexibility. I'm just boring and sensible.

Yeah, this is quite a simple guess for most I'd say. You can lie down without worrying about pulling your cable out, or even console and make it smash. Wireless all the way too.

Considering I made that statement back in 2012, My opinions have changed since.

Gaming on my computer, everything is wired for flawless activity and responses. Consoles though, ya I don't care if its wireless.

I am more old-fashioned so I liked wired for consoles and other input devices like a computer mouse. I always have this worried sensation that the battery will die on me or connection problems. It is an awful feeling playing a game and your wireless controller died on you during an important mission. I know wireless controllers you can charge it, but once you take the USB out it will get low eventually.

I am currently making this post in 2017 and I'm playing on the PS4 so I'm pretty sure that most of the controllers are wireless which I prefer because you aren't limited by distances.

Oh, I did not even pay attention to the date, somebody has revived this really old thread. I was pointing towards the consoles though. I am on PC, wired as well :)

I don't get why this needs to be argued about... But the answers obvious, Wireless. When it comes to gaming, I'm pretty sure people don't want to be cramped up to a screen due to a wire which can't go back more then 2.5m. It's much easier to move around with a wireless remote.

While i do prefer wireless there are somethings to be taken into consideration, like the quality of the hardware. I have had some poor quality controllers in the past that would never work, they would lose connection all the time, batteries would run out in a couple days. In that particular case the wired alternative seemed better.

I still prefer wired ones just for the consistency and having to play a game without having to worry about it disconnecting while you are in the middle of a battle. For the battery operated ones (that you have to change every now and then), it's added purchase compared to the DS4 which has an internal battery. DS4 is better for me as a controller, but the Xbox one is more compatible with Windows, and would be easier for plug-and-play when it comes to newer games.

For consoles and playing it on super wide screen, sure. But for PC, I would stick to wires. Wires all the way! For gaming at least. As for non gaming, wireless could work. I don't know, it just might be me, but I never liked the "freedom" behind the wireless mouse.

I agree, wire mouses are better then wireless as its easy to loose a wireless mouse, controller wise for consoles, no.

Definitely wired. Why deal with the hassle of buying batteries all the time when you can use a simple wired controller? Not to mention wireless gear is usually more expensive than wired gear. No need to spend extra just to get rid of a cord, at least in my opinion.

I was never a fan of wireless controllers since they always ran out of battery for me and looking for them was a chore. With wired ones the wire rarely gets in the way at all and I never have to add batteries (which cost money by the way).
