Maybe someday I'll prepare a very detailed list for you. I have a very long one... But, you'll have to take the time to read it all.
It's okay about that, i will have time to read your list :sunglasses::tearsofjoy: And maybe i will find something interesting for me there.

Yeah, I love horror games... They have a guaranteed place in my list of favorites. In fact, I have many favorite songs ... but the problem is having to choose just one as my favorite. I mean, it's pretty hard. :tongueclosed:
Maybe i can help if i will see your list :tearsofjoy: of course it's hard to choose one from many, but maybe let your heart decide in this situation :tonguewink: if he beat fast, so it mean that you have to chose that one.

You're likely to enjoy many names on my list. Most of it's made up of horror game music. They are so damn good. I can not get sick of them.

That's a good advice. My heart will choose the best song (but it is usually very hesitant :tearsofjoy:).

There are a lot of games with great music. The Megaman series has always been a favorite of mine, music-wise. I also love the early Sonic games, Toe Jam and Earl, and World of Warcraft. Funnily enough, one recent favorite of mine has been Yoshi's Woolly World! The music in it was just the right mix of down to Earth, but also creative. It draws from country and folk musics, funk, and rock to create a strangely unique set of tracks that are a joy to listen to as I search for the various baubles hidden in each level.

The Okami soundtrack will forever be my favorite. I'm a huge fan of traditional Japanese music and instruments, and I get a huge kick out of working to the Okami soundtrack. In a similar vein the Fire Emblem Fates soundtrack is incredible, despite what a disaster that game turned out to be.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, I really love the music from Bioshock Infinite. I love hearing the crackle in the background of the songs, very old-timey and different.

It's in preparation mode... With no deadline to be finalized because there is always something new and very good for me to add. :tearsofjoy:

I don't recall all the well composed soundtrack I have ingested, but I loved the music of Transistor by SuperGiant Games, and of the Free To Play college project of Eternal Senia.
I'm a sucker for a good bass line, but also strings. I enjoyed playing the alto section of the violas for 5 years, and love to hear it in a range of genres.
Music can send chills down you spine or pump you up for the next wave of enemies!

That what give the game more excitement and fun, because it's an horror game so it's normal to feel like that. I like that feeling and it's makes the adrinaline come out.
Yup, that's my point. It's gonna be fun while playing since it helps with the ambiance and environment; but I wouldn't want to listen to it while I'm about to sleep, or when I'm trying to study or something. It makes you feel dread or make you more alert, and the best music in games to listen to in the real world, you'll wanna listen to relaxing music from games.

I am gree with you in this point, I don't think too that's it's a good idea to listen to it before sleep or while eating, because maybe it will make you vomit lol I'm just kidding.

Dark Souls have pretty good music, but the one that stick with me the most is this:

"]

But probably it's just because I listened to it for hours and hours before beating them.

But both of the credit songs from Portal and its sequel are pretty good too. I prefer the second one:

Portal's soundtrack is really good. Speaking of Valve games, what are your thoughts on Half Life's soundtrack? I found some of the more rock-inclined tracks to be very well done.

The Half Life 2 soundtrack? Weeeellll... I love the game, but honestly the music doesn't really fits me. I don't really love this genre/kind/style of music... don't know how to define it (of course the Portal songs are two exception), I prefer orchestral music, something epic and classical (like Dark Souls, or for example Shadow of Colossus which had a spectacular soundtrack).

Oh boy, I love Portal songs so damn much. I'm a sucker for GLaDOS, though, so I may be a tad biased here.
Still, Portal 2's OST is incredible. Some tracks sound dissonant at first, but when you actually listen to them they turn into something different. That messed with my head so much. This track conveys this feeling the most:

I would like to quote a track in a very important part of the game - and spoiler alert, I won't go too much in details for anybody who haven't played (you should, NOW), if you have played the game you probably already figured out what part I'm talking about. This:

And while as I said it's not my genre, I love how a cheerful and happy music, with a triumphant tone, slowly becomes a creepy music when you realize that you have screwed up... and I love the fact that the music is basically the same in those moments, but with little differences that completely changes its tone! And when a music make you feel the precise emotion the developers want you to feel, you know it's a music made right. Seriously, the general story director of Portal 2 is marvelous.

I wholeheartedly agree. Those crucial plot points are already amazing by themselves, but the soundtrack (calling it "background" would be reductive) really seals the deal. The whole audio department (including Wheatley's voice acting, that's some of the best I've ever heard) was handled masterfully, it just makes everything even more memorable. It made me take seriously even lines like "I AM NOT A MORON".
Man, I really want to replay Portal 2 now.
